As a senior product designer for Avado, I was tasked with helping with the rebranding project in 2020, which included creating a new brand for the platform that was accessible and easy to implement on different applications and devices. To achieve this, I worked closely with the Head of the Studio to ensure consistency in the new brand’s font, logo, and colour.
One of our challenges was the need for a design system for both website and the learning platform. The website was designed by an external agency, while the learning platform was developed internally, leading to inconsistencies. Furthermore, after conducting task analysis and research, I discovered an increase in password resets and recoveries, indicating that the login page was difficult for users to navigate.
I created a design system to address these issues that prioritised accessibility in all design decisions. The design system included a component library that ensured consistency in size, colour, and typography, which I designed on Adobe XD. I also trained the teams on how to use the design system, and it was shared via a link on the cloud so developers could access it at any time.
I also analysed user tasks and designed a new login page displaying passwords prominently and had a straightforward recovery process.
Overall, the rebranding project received praise for its coherence and accessibility, leading to a more positive user experience for Avado’s users. The design system I created sped up the design and development process, and its consistency aligned the entire Avado experience across both the website and the learning platform. Additionally, the updated login page reduced the cost of dealing with password recovery for the company.
This new login page received an average rating of 4.8 out of 5, demonstrating its positive impact on the user experience.
